Lotus Exige

Does anyone know if this car is on sale now. I'm asking because there was one in Cockermouth, Cumbria last night and I thought that they weren't released yet. Looked quite nice, Almost identical to the Elise but with a more "racey" rear spoiler.

Yeah, there was one at Fridays Brands Hatch meeting. I heard it had an encounter with a tyre wall at one point though.
The Lotus dealer I went to in Chichester las t week had a couple in their showroom as well.
I guess those who ordered early will be taking delivery by now.

The Exige at Brands (hope its mended soon Steve) was truly impressive. In the wet, coming out of Druids (45mph-ish hairpin) the ability to get the power down was incredible for a 2WD car.
I would have loved to see what it can do on a dry track !
DJ
edited cos I forgot to say there's one coming to Donno on the 12th Nov.

There are some used ones for sale at a Lotus dealer advertising in the back of this months Evo mag.
32k for a used Exige - starts to make the asking price for a P1 seem like value for money.
Let's face it. The Exige is a lovely car, but you don't get a lot of metal for your money.

Exige has been around for a while...
...about three months now.
You can get one specced up to 192bhp, with less than 1000miles on it for less than £28k. When they came out they were £35 plus with the engine and sport pack upgrade. Reduced to £29,950 very quickly.
I have driven one and it is the most thrilling drive I have ever had on the road. You just will the car through corners, it is as if it just follows your eyes. Big turns only require about an eighth of a turn from the wheel - brilliant - loads of grip.
BIG downside is that it makes any car seem quiet - it is massively noisier inside than out!
Check out this weeks Autocar, lots for sale at good prices.
Oh, and by the way, next to an Elise is looks very different, big splitter, big fin, much wider arches and unfeasibly low to the ground.
STONKING!

Rannoch I apologise. I don't know that much about Lotus's and to me, in the dark and under severe influence of alcohol it did look the same apart from the rear spoiler. I know that elise's are supposed to be a great handling car. I'll have to try to get a go in one!!
