MY SUBARU STI TYPE20 STOLEN IN BIRMINGHAM
Returned from hols to find my 04 scooby gone. I parked it in the NCP airport parking at birmingham airport (stupid now as it seems now, as subaru's get stolen from their so called "secure parking" alot!!!). Its sonic blue with black rims. It had been alarmed and immobilized also fitted with a tracker. Which RAC say is not reponding !!!!!!!! (i pay my money for what???). If any one see's it at any point in the near future mail me.
Thanks - gutted scooby driver.

Gutted for you mate, what a **** end to a holiday...... I've read posts saying that airport carparks aren't safe, but for the record I've still thought that mine would be OK...... but after reading your post it's made me seriously rethink the notion of leaving my car at airports during my trips.....

I feel very sorry for you. You can't leave anything decent anywhere these days. I'm paranoid about leaving my Type 20.
I've read so many Scoobies being stolen from the NCP at BHX it's unreal. You think that with the profit NCP make each year, that they'd sort this place out, prehaps like that car park in Derby.
Safer and cheaper to do a one way car rental than leave your pride and joy at risk from these lowlifes.

Gutted for you mate. Not a nice welcome back. It seems nothing in this world is safe now. Secure carparks, yeah right.
I hope that your car is found soon and the lowlifes are banged up. Won`t happen though as our legal system is sh!te.

Sorry to hear the bad news.
I think it is about time that the police at least try using a bait car in Birmingham airport car parks as there have been too many performance cars going missing. Must be the same bunch of people every time.

Sorry to hear of the theft. A mate has a T20 (that incidentally I've just had a drive of ) so this feels close.

thanks for the support ! i was only away for one week but thats easily long enough. NCP car park have automatic barrier entry and exit. as the sercruity men said cars get taken all the time, and the car park is far from sercure. I should have known really. they get in and out by getting a ticket from the machine with a nicked old banger. park up and take your car paying *** all on exiting. the other way is that they tailgate the pick up buses passed the barrier, that are in and out every 15 mins!

Really sorry for you.
Can you claim from NCP? After all if not, why bother using their srvices?
Good luck in finding it, I'll watch out for it I'm in the Midlands/Worcs.

That's really bad news mate - gutted for you. I recently left my STI at Manchester Airport shuttle park and spent much of the holiday wondering whether it was going to be there when I returned. It was - but reading posts like this makes me think twice about using such facilities again

****, sorry to hear your car's been nicked.
We've just booked a holiday, flying out of BHX and were going to park in one of the BHX long stay car parks. Will seriously think about taking the misses car instead now!

It's about time these car park clowns jacked up their security systems. It can't be rocket science. Say link your car (say type and colour) to a PIN number which you choose when entering perhaps combined with flight number. This is required when you exit. If you have forgotten PIN well tough. They could offer this as an option for peeps with decent motors at say £10 for peace of mind. Just a thought.
Incidentally my 18-year old son who only passed his test this year was offered a job by an agency moving cars from short term to long term parks at Gatwick. All they wanted to know was that he had a driving licence So much for staff vetting. My son is NOT a car thief btw

Really sorry to hear of your loss mate. The tracker probably isn't responding as the car is in a metal container awaiting export if it hasn't already left the country
Alternately it may have been broken for parts but that shouldn't stop the tracker activating as I think they're hardwired into hidden locations in the car so they can't just be ripped out.

nightmare
have you considered doing any investigating yourself as you can guarantee the cops or security wont be arsed to.
if you can be bothered to establish the time of the theft etc, it may be worth giving pics to security/bus drivers etc questioning them as to any sus circumstances, ask if any of them recognise your car or they may recall seeing it being driven at some point which could pin point the date it was nicked. if you suceed get cctv or ask the "officials" to view it on that day and it may show something to get the scum locked up........ just a thought!
hope it gets sorted soonest.
