i modified a set of these recently, and lets just say it was for more than £20.

You would probs get at least £15 just weighing them in at a scrappy. I think AS Performance gets the AP ones, and you wont get change from £100

having said that, there worth what smeones prepared to pay.

yes mate, it is possible, if they have been incorrectly fitted, ie not all cleaned down when fitted.

I would have said its unlikley though.

if you know anyone in the engineering game, ie, a machine setter, miller or a turner, they could check them in a matter of seconds for you, i could, but im in the north east.

Just so you know, if they were warped, there useless to you both, unless you or him can get them machined, so if hes asking them for £20 and hes telling you hes prepared to take a risk on em, that may tell you a little about what they are worth to him at least anyway.

even if warped, they will be safe, they wont fall off, it just means you will get alot of juddering, which isnt good, but on the UK roads, it shouldnt be life threatening lol.

All you need to check them, is a surface plate and a DTI (more commonly known as a finger clock) have a post in your regional section, im sure there will be someone who knows someone in there, might cost you a pint or two, no more lol
