What colour; Black or Grey new STI?
All,
Havent posted on here for a while, but i've just decided that i'm going to replace my 2002 Sti with a new one.
I dont want Blue or white and my current sti is silver, so I dont want one of those. That leaves Grey or Black.
Black looks nice when new, but i'm concerned what it will look like in 1-2 years time when the good old stones and dents take heed.
Comments??

Black is THE worst colour to get, it shows dirt up from 300 yards away, white would have been my choice, its no where near as bad as black and looks great but you dont want that so it leaves grey, so there is my answer

I've got a black one - had it 3 years and yes it takes a bit of looking after, but looks great. I try to wash it every week or two and it still looks great. Polish it about once a year.
I did say it took too much to keep it looking good, but a week ago I took the plunge and ordered another one, in black again !! Couldn't bring myself to have anything else.

I`ve got a Crystal Grey STI and to me its the best colour. Its mature and understated. My last STI was WR Blue, nice colour, but too common and in your face. My mates got a Black STI, mean looking, but shows off stonechips badly. Only my opinions.

as these guys say, you have to keep it clean, fair enough, they still look mean and spot on when dirty, but then they are clean in black, they look excellent. Unfortunately its hard to keep them clean, i washed and gave mine a quick polish on sunday, then it rained and it was dirty within an hour, but hey, you gotta love them

my crystal grey hasnt been washed for a fortnight now and only the wheels really give that away. Blue wasnt to bad on the 04 scoob, didnt show off the dirt as much as my black 01 one did, but the black did look stunning when clean on a sunny day.

Hmmm, still undecided. The reason I dont want blue is that i've already had blue. Also my neighbour has a 03 plate sti in blue.
I like black, but i dont wash my car that often as I dont get the time. I also dont trust anyone else to do it (I let the wife, but she knows the rules; if you drop the sponge on the floor, throw it away....) Again, agreed, the only thing that gives the game away on my silver when it's dirty, is the wheels.
The other thing that worries me about the black is stone chips. What colour is the undercoat and if its white, does it look like the cars got ache??
I'm also a bit put off with dark colours. I remember when I brought a new my99 in Dark blue mica. That night, admiring my new car in the garage under the lights, I was gutted to see "swires" on the paintwork. i took it back and they tried to "buff" them out, but it only make it slightly better.
