Default my car made 226 bhp today..

AT THE WHEELS!!! so pleased its still got the standard slanty intercooler on itas well, so it appears the standard JDM WRX is not so standard after all,
I knew it had an STI ECU but didn't expect that much power!
its running rich as well, and boost has been set to 1.1 bar as at 1.2 there was det.
Very pleased got car tested at TDI in Thurrock on their wheels off bolted to hub dyne thingy they have their, the guys said the engine sounded good, and was possibly not the original old engine but couldn't tell, either way the graph shows i'm getting power which peaks at 6080 rpm and only slightly dies down before the rev limiter hits, so I can change gear much later than the 5000 odd rpm I had been previously.
Can anyone tell me what the transmission loss could be so I can try and work out an estimate of what the bhp will be at the fly?
also the torque was 225

Transmission loses are around 25%... so that's in the region of 280bhp at the fly.

Wink

About 300bhp. -25% =75bhp so leaving 225ish at the wheels. Or somewhere near that.

but anyway,
I know mine car is far from the quickest in the world, but its the quickest on my drive!

I don't think anyones try to p*ss on your parade bud, just a light bit of banter.

The slanted intercooler will restrict you to around 300bhp, so an upgrade is a good idea, that said a bit of fabrication is required to get a more up to date version to fit and it can be a bit of a bugger, thought about a front mount ???

the graph was very pretty colours and the guy who I paid all my money to spent a good 15 mins explaining what torque and bhp meant, and how my car was the best ****box he'd seen in a while, and although he had an 800bhp supra he felt mine was faster, and for an extra £20 he could tell me it was faster and better than a skyline R34 GTR, Toyota Supra twin turbo, and all the bms on the road today, I paid him of course

surely you should have realised i was taking the **** on that post!
and yes, all my mates have nova's, some with 2 calibra lumos in, and they all produce over 10000000bhp through the front wheels, so whats the problem?
If I'd had more than £2500 you know i would have spent it on a nove merit then spent a few thousand more on tuning it, i just didn't have the money
