Default how much power after re-map

My bugeye sti is currently producing 327.5 (.5 is very important!!) the mods i have are as follows; full decat system, recirc damp valve k&n typhoon induction kit. Its gagging for a remap as i get flactuatting boost at top end, my question is how much power would I gain and which ecu to use. I kinda like the Apexi power FC chip with boost controller. Any thoughts?

To be honest mate you would be looking at around 330 with it being mapped, cant see how its 327 with the mods you have had done!

Im just wondering how the engine is still in one piece New age STi's detest decats without a remap (boost spikes and det, long term engine killer).

scoobyclinic reckons it won't do much damage in the short term but did strongly recommend I get a re-map, when they had it all plugged up in the dyno it all seemed fine. However I still want to get a remap as soon as i can afford it.

Not true in all cases. When I first put the decat on mine I had no issues what so ever and mine was constantly logged throughout it's testing. BUT..... it does need to be checked and of course a remap is best to ensure it is safe and running at it's potential.

On a commercial note though whyen are you planing of having the power FC done Shof?

I'm looking to have mine remapped after Ralph fits my front mount and it may be slightly more cost effective if we did it together. Also why don't you speak to a specialist regarding the remap as they can give you conservative estimates.

327.5BHP isn't at all bad for your mods though.

Shaun, blobeyes have a different ecu to the bug eyes? from 03 onwards the retarding is very good but it can still cause spikes, on a bugeye..... think your asking for trouble there

yes you want to upgard fuel pump to a walbro 255 as yours is probably on its limit now. once you have this fitted and remaped you'l feel a big differance between 327 and bhp you get cos i know it doesn't sound like your gaining alot but it works better i.e cars set up to you mods. had my car remaped by andy.f not sure who's best near you

There have been a few group buys on PFCs. I'll speak to David at API to see if we can sort out a price. Unless you have a preference of tuners.

That reminds me. Will be meeting Ivan this tuesday to discuss next meet and other bits associated.
