Perhaps its the new high powered 500lbs diesel.
When the Impreza saloon is dropped from the Subaru Portfollio this may be Subaru effort to entice them into buying a High Powered Diesel Legacy (esp USDM) Afterall some Impreza owners will never by a hatchback (New B5-STi model) no matter how well it goes

Interesting that it comes from some shots in Death Valley and published in 'News from Azerbaijan and South Caucasus'. I'd always wondered whether the Azerbaijanis were into performance Subarus...
