Depends if you like higher runing costs than the scoob. Plus loads of electric wizard'ry to pull you out of the sh*t. Myself i prefer the driver to get himself out of the sh*t. I'm sure 5th gear did a test a while back and they prefered the scoob as it had overall more driver involvment. Anyway whatever you do...........you'll be back, we always are.

Not wanting to start another STI vs Evo debate, as above you really do need to drive the Evo and see if it's what you want. The handle is in my mind completly differant on the Evo, alot more "active" and the lift off oversteer when your pushing it round corners is a little off putting to say the least when you first experiance it.
If you can handle that then for a ballsed out driving car the Evo has it. But living day to day I would say the STI would be better. Also the servicing on the Evo is only 4.5k intervals. I found I was working to pay to drive the car. (I had a MR FQ340). All in my own humble opinion.

The Evo is a very cheap car to run for the performance on offer. Depreciation in the first year on the UK models is high. Buy used or buy an import.
It is ridiculously modifiable for very little money compared with any Subaru.
£230 spent on an FQ320 will get you near to 400 BHP if you DIY. Has the powerband of a 2.5, but much stronger engine design.
Steering and seats much better than the Subaru.
The VIII MR of IX have comfortable Bilstein suspension. Economy on the IX is good - 300 miles on 55 litres is possible at motorway cruise.

Do make sure it's a genuine FQ and not a misrepresentation on the V5 or HPI (as this takes info from the V5). When you HPI her make sure she was first used in the UK and there,s no break in between the first use date and the first UK registration date. When you first register an import you can easily get the FQ name on there. If you are unsure send me your number by PM and i'll call you and explain.

Have a change and go for an evo,i am lucky enough to own bouth top end cars spec c typa ra and a evo 9 gt which is kicking 380/380.
If you feel the evo lacks the power slap an exhaust filter and remap on and away she'll go.
ps not a fan of ayc especially when you get in trouble computer does one thing you do another and you f##ked

Keep the MY05 then again I'm biased as I have a MY05 STI PPP
I've never driven an FQ340 but I am an ex EVO 6 TME owner which is still regarded as the best Evolution of the EVO. Now I happen to think the 05 STI PPP is a better all round car with more driver involvement, just as quick point to point if not quicker.
My advice is take a test drive and make your own mind up
