Default Sti v type 25

Why is there so much hype around the type 25 which is slower round a track then an sti with an exhaust filter and remap (type20).

wouldn't give it that much bad credit, Ian Litchfield knows what he's doing with these cars. He developed them in conjunction with powerstation and the cars also come with warranty etc. Why don't you go and test drive it.

Out performed? It's got exactly the same chassis & suspension components as the Type 20 but with a better power/weight ratio than the new 997 Turbo. Oh and 8.7secs to 100mph

I know what the performence figures are.Did you not read the questions

The type 25 is out performed by the type 20 on track.

Out of interest, where have you heard the Type 20 is faster than the new Type 25?

Which track?

Do you only drive on a track?

Which would be the faster car on EVERYDAY roads?

The Type 25 has a better power to weight ratio than the 997 Turbo (1 BHP) and has 420 lb ft Torque.
Considering the Type 25 is based on the Spec C (lighter than a normal STI) and has 415BHP I suspect the Type 25 will be faster than a STI with remap.

There's a good write up about the new Type 25 Evo magazine (096) - they called it the ultimate Impreza - I'd certainly be more than happy to own one
Maybe you should drive it before slagging it off?

Why not just buy a STI and have a remap then? and let those who wish to buy a Type 25, buy one.

Are you lot all stupid? i am not slagging the car off you dim wits.it was out performed in the first round of the d1gb time attack or what ever it's called.

As far as litimports and powerstation are concerned they have done subaru a favourby setting a great example.

the type 25 is a great car built by people dedicated to getting the best out of the project and still offering a great daily driver.
A lot of money was put into the r and d of the car i have been in one and i have to say worth every penny... not saying the sti is not a good car its just not as good as an all rounder different strokes for different folks mate
perhaps you should ring ian litchfield book a test drive and then post your findings on here best take your mate along to show him to and then maybe you will understand why so many people spend the extra money

Depends on the track the difference in the Tuner Gp was .15 of a second, the track is quite twisty and both cars have identical suspension set ups. On a track with longer straights the extra power of the Type 25 would make a considerable difference to the slightly quicker reving 2L Spec C.

A uk Sti would be murdered by both

The thing you do not factor in is the driver, you can not compare times between cars unless the same driver drives both at nearly the same time to replicate atmospheric consditions and so on.

The fact the Webmaster in his spec C with more power than the Litchfield Spec C and even a complete strip out of the interior was actually 5 seconds slower than both the Spec C and the Type 25

By whom? If it's anybody other than the company making it then it's damn good advertising for free, accentuated by people posting threads on Scoobynet.

As the owner of a boring old MK1 T25 only 360BHP and 375lbs/ft all I can say is, get yourself down to Litcho and give one ago.
A T25 new or orginal has so much low down punch, it would be in a different league on the road to most STI or Evo's

You're preaching to the perverted! I have been a fan of the T25 since it's inception. In a group test it ran rings around other Imprezas and was quite possibly the best Impreza to date at that time. It seems this thread was started to undermine the T25 or am I being cynical?

Not to undermine i just assumed there was'nt much difference in performance and assumed they was as quick as the other due to the time attack results.
