#1
![Question](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Hi i have just in the throws of buying my first Impreza and i would like to welcome myself to the club but i need some help on the car which i have placed a desposit on. The car is acording to the log book a 2002 (52) WRX STI Prodrive now i would like to know the following.
1) Did they make this addition or is it the PPP
2) What BHP would it be
3) Which exhaust should it have fitted (currenty as a stamped STI on the backbox)
4) Finally how can i tell or find out if it is prodrive equipped (it does have the 18" OZ wheels)
Sorry about all the questions but as this is my first one and knowlegde is limited on these so all information / help will be greatly recieved.
Thanks
Graeme

Going from the sti-ppp i have it had a rear box with prodrive embossed at the tip and a prodrive certificate with the reg and vin number on it , bhp should be 305bhp , ppp kit consists of rear box , centre cat deleted and front cat changed to high flow cat , ecu change/remapped with sti and the year of remap with a number below which is meant to the serial number written on the ecu casing and uprated fuel pump . Thats for a 04 model , think it's all the same .
Watch it's not advertised as wrx sti prodrive STYLE ! which i have seen before , they have a high rear wing and front splitter etc but still 265bhp .

When you bought an MY02 bugeye STi there was an optional limited edition "Prodrive style" which had a different front spoiler (with no fog lights) and the big boot spoiler. Could be this? You could then add the familiar PPP (Prodrive performance pack) which upped the bhp from I think 265 to 301ps.
So a Prodrive STi could be an STi with a PPP, a Prodrive style STi without a PPP or a Prodrive style STi with PPP (Prodrive^2)?
Pretty sure the PPP back box said Prodrive on it rather than STi.

Sounds like the Prodrive Style

Standard form 265bhp. 'prodrive' means unique front bumper, side skirts and rear spoiler.
Good car.

It should have a Certificate off Prodrive stating it has PPP. Ask the seller if they have one.
Without this is will be a `Style` pack.
If you have the chassis number, you could always phone Prodrive and ask them to verify if it has the PPP upgrade fitted.
Are you buying from a main dealer? If yes, then they should be able to confirm if PPP is fitted or not.

2 Type UK STi bugeye's.
1. Prodrive style, with high level rear spoiler, 'STi' on front fog covers written in WHITE, and a different bumper.
2. Non Prodrive style STi has low level rear spoiler, different bumper and STi written in PINK on the foglamp covers.
If the car has PPP fitted, there should be a certificate, as other have already stated. The seller should know what he is selling, and have all documentation present to pass on the prospective purchaser!
Hope this helps!

the tailpipe says STI, so it will not have the PPP. The warranty will have expired now, so get yourself to TSL motorsport for the 333 upgrade which is much better than the ppp!!

From the posts it looks like the 265 BHP Bugeye "prodrive style" STi with the fog covers, changed grile, and STi spoiler ![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
The best of the bugeye's to leave the factory for bang per buck as nobody has paid the £1600 for the PPP![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Haggle hard as these cars are pretty unloved (like mine unfortunately which is the WRX version). Maybe wortk 10K ??

the STI Prodrive style is also cheaper to insure in my experience than a normal STI. Thanks to Direct Line!!
The STI Prodrive style is easily the sexiest, mine's black, lowered with tints and she looks the bee's *****.
