Default STI 8PPP v TT225

Had a little play with a TT and was surprised how quick the little hair dressers car was. The scoob only had a noticable advantage over 60mph. Anyone else gone against one.
(On private roads/tracks of course)
Nik.

Most cars to 60 are quite equal, mainly due to either one or the other not getting off the line very well, above that..... he should have become quite small

Im quite surprised you did'nt make it look silly to be honest, i work on Audi's and think the 225TT's are just heavy bags of ****e, ok they are not slow but i would not think that there would be any comparison unless the one you had a play with had been modified.

I hope it had been modified because having only recently had ppp fitted, i was expecting a little more out of the car.
Currently on my secong tank of V max so as for those claiming power increases i have yet to see it.
What rev's is peak power achieved ?
Nik.

Only trouble I ever had was with a TT225 engined MK2 Golf GTI and I was in my old standard bugeye wagon. He only started to pull away above 100.

You must have come across one modified with the Moulinex Turbo Drier II complete with Harmony injectors and pre-heated rollers.

It's relatively cheap and easy to take TTs up to about 285bhp, my guess is it was modded and the owner was poofy fella with girly weedy arms.

I did have a cheeky so and so in a TT try and keep up with me over the moors from holmfirth to dovestone water in Yorkshire. I was in my R34 GTR at the time though so it didn't last long. I haven't come across any others wanting to challenge whilst driving subarus though.

Mrs 'Sticks' has got a standard 225 TT , and to be honest I don't mind it (no I'm not a cutter of hair) roadholding wise it sticks like **** to a blanket , far better than my wagon , hasn't got the punch of my Scoob but if it had the AMD treatment http://www.amdtechnik.com/product.de...eferenceID=609 you can tune them upto 460 bhp for about £3.5k It would'nt be too shabby

Had a play with a TT3.2 recently. Once I hit 3rd gear (95 jdm wrx) He disappeared in my rear view mirror. Must be annoying for these people who have thrown £30k plus at a car to be left behind by an 11yr old £4k rocket!
Anyone know what the BHP is on the 3.2TT?

They are about 250bhp, still barely any difference in performance between that and a 225TT but do have a nice V6 growl to them, but then they weigh around 1650kg's may be even a bit more, a hell of a lot of weight to carry around for a small coupe.
