Default the big question

2 years ago i sold my beloved RB5, to be honest, never been happy since. i've had a souped up jdm ceica with mad kit etc (too old for that carry on now lol) currently have a seat leon cupra r, which is bloody quick but just doesn't cut the thrill of the rb5. selling up time is calling and i'm stuck with the big question-

P1

STI8

or -THE DARKSIDE evo 8

opinions please

cheers

the rb5 was my second scoob so i'm a scoob lover but the temtation of seeing what the evo is like is working on me. the leon really is a good car but it lacks the everyday thrills of the scoob

i had my sti 6 for sale not so long ago and was toying with the idea of a p1 but my mind was changed..i ended up keeping mine and put some money into it but if i had the choice of an evo 8 or sti8 id snap it up tomorrow.p1 will be basically like your old motor, evo 8 totally different.id defo go drive one before you decide.

p1 was the one i always wanted, wouldnt have minded just having one but i know what you mean, time to move up the ladder.
toying with the sti/evo is a difficult one
even colours, sti blues are becoming too common, i'd fancy black or crystal grey but rare
evos black, steel blue or even red

i live on isle of lewis so testdriving means a couple o hundred mile trek

Depends what evo 8 you go for, i drove the standard 260bhp one out of the box when i was looking around and the Sti8 was a much better drive and quicker!! And then i went and plumped for a WRX wagon lol!!

Need to go for one of the FQ cars if you want the same fun as a Sti, and the 4,500 mile servicing intervals are interesting too if you use the main dealer!!!

If you fancy a P1 then get one. Lovely cars, I had one for 4 years and had no worries. If I was to get one now, I'd have one with a recent rebuild or one with remaining Subaru warranty.

May or may not be at the races, but it would be a winner on Ladies Day

If an:

Everyday car - STi8
Weekend Toy - Evo 8

I think the P1 market can be a minefield and personally wouldn't spend that much on an older car.
