Default 342bhp Forester

Took my Forester STi to powerstation yesterday for a hyperflow TMIC. Delighted to see that on a power run peak bhp was 342, and this was with an ambient temperature of 20.5C and running on 97 ron SUL. So I guess with new v-max power may be a bit higher still. Great service from powerstation by the way.

Whilst there saw the type 25 demo car and time attack racing car. Apparently next year Litchfields are thinking of doing a type 25 forester too 415bhp/420lbft - Should be fun!

Bartop - other mods are those of standard performance upgrade offered on new Sti includes Miltek exhaust, racing cat, peformance air filter and powerstation remap. 330bhp/330lbft - the intercooler and BOV were changed a slight tweak later 342bhp/340lb (matching the performance pack offered on the 2.5l UK STI)

Arron - Yes, the lack of DCCD would favour the impreza 25 over a forester 25 when it comes to driving thrills. But still can't argue with a little SUV pummeling a Porsche Cayenne turbo into submission

Slight weight advantage! Can't see it giving it that much of a pasting though.

How much was the intercooler ? I'm up there in a couple of weeks... Having said that, the Visa bill for the summer holiday hasn't arrived yet...

Nice - is that on an 06 Fsti ?
Did the same with my 06 2.5 FXT, Miltek, remap etc with PS, getting 311/320.
Have changed the IC and about to do inlet hose, BOV, and SPT Induction kit.
With a bit of a map tweak would like to get 330/330

Thinking about getting the AST's ? A couple of the guys on Forester.org have fitted the Forester one's from Powerstation - get yourself registered on there if you haven't already !

Cheers
Pete

..If they made a Type 25 Forester thats 415bhp in 1490kg = 278bhp per ton
Cayenne Turbo S has 521bhp and weighs 2355kg = 221bhp per ton

On the road it might not be a huge difference but I don't think you could call it "slight". I think I'd call it hilarious.

So the normal 330 bhp FSTi has got about 221 bhp/ton. Funny, that's the same as the Turbo S, and that does 0-60 in 4.8 or 5.2 depending which numbers you read. I would expect the FSTi to be around 4.8 too, although I haven't tested it. (I mean I haven't timed it *cough*)

Thanks. I don't think I could slip that one through the spending embargo for the time being. The AST's on mine are the inverted Sportline II's. Due to issues with spring travel and stiction I'm changing over to the non-inverted ones in a couple of weeks (ala T25 fitting but slightly longer). Curtis is confident that these will be much better, so I'll give a full report then.

Sorry mate - I forgot to reply to your PM !
Can't help you at the moment as the Foz is in the bodyshop being repaired where some muppet went into the back of me a few weeks ago, won't get it back until the end of next week I'm afraid..

Whilst it's in though I'm getting the rear tailgate spoiler and front splitter fitted

Forester Type 25...
That's going to need some major improvement on the standard chassis if you want to stand a chance of not killing yourself in it.
Managed to squeeze 330 brake out of it for the Snetterton track over the bank holiday. It was fun driving it hard round the circuit, but wouldn't want to try that on the road.

Maybe if you drove Mogs you would change your opinion! Why are all the hard core oldies on here moving to Foresters STI's?

UK Turbo 2000 > P1 > WRX300 > Forester STI.....
