Default bonnet types on classic

just put a magnet on all te panels on my 92 wrx, it wont stick to the bonnet, does this mean its an alloy one?
is this the standard one?
i'm trying to piece together exactly what my car is, it is def a wrx(on vin number and lg book), but has been stickered up a bit as STI, also the ECU is STI and I got nearly 300bhp recently on the dyno,
so did the previous owner in Japan spend some money to make this look like an STI, or si the bonnet standard on these old classics?
would be interesting to know what else on/in this car is not actually a 92 wrx!
are there any scooby experts who live near SE london that could come and look over this car and tell me what it actually is please?

i have the same thing. my car is registered as a 1995 lx but all the engine etc relates to a 93 wrx, howver there were signs of sti decals once being on the car. could it be you and me have "top secret" early stis that kick out 1,000bhp or just very similar sti wannabe cars?

bit strange this, not sure what my car is besides one word... FUN

Post a load of clear pics up.

Regarding the bonnet, if it's very light then it'll be an ali bonnet and would be an import. I can't remember for sure, but I had an old wrx that had a very light bonnet.

If the thing is heavy then it'll be a uk bonnet, the difference in weight is quite staggering.

AFAIK there was no sti's 'til late 93-early 94.
