Default de-cat,smell of petrol??

since i got the de-cat ive noticed a strong smell of petrol ,when im driving it..would she be running too rich now?? im getting it mapped in the next few weeks so should that sort it.it also backfires quite a bit when hot..im guessing that would suggest shes running a tad rich??

Basically yes, the remap will sort it out. I stayed off-boost until the mapping session.

yes it will be running rich but if you start hammering it there is always the risk of it running lean which is not good, however as said above the remap will sort it. stick decent fuel in it and dont give it too much and you'll be ok.

Not at all:
04 STi; Full decat, pump, filter, ported/wrapped headers and up-pipe. Andy F remap on optimax.

You'll notice a difference once the map is done. It will just utilise all the new parts and gel them together. Incidentally, why are you mapping on 95 ron + booster, why not just V-Power?

I can smell fuel outside my car quite often... as long as your not smelling it inside the car (coming through the vents) it's not an issue.

I wouldn't smell fuel while your driving that wouldn't go down to well.
And I definitely wouldn't make a call while smelling fuel and driving.

Sorry i'm sooo bored at work.
