I currently have a slightly scrappy but mechanically excellent 95 wrx, its had eibach springs, uprated discs n pads all round, centre decat n backbox, 17" rota's plus a splitter. Its a great car aside from a few dents and is my first impreza and performance car if you like. The question is i currently have a lump sum of cash heading my way and i can either spend around 5K on the wrx tidying and uprating or sell it and buy my dream scoob, a V4/5 type r.
Id appreciate anyones opinions especially from owners of type r's.
Cheers in advance.

im not a type R owner, but if they were both in a carpark and someone said to take one, it would be the type R.
more exclusive for a start. get it, keep it standard looking and you will have yourself one very nice motor mate.
Money spent on modding is money down the toilet as far as resale value is concerned

Yeah thank you, i see where you're coming from the type r would be just as quick plus more exclusive and would hold its value. Im more than likely going to go for the type r, just would like to hear from owners to see they're experiences especially those with experiences of both cars.

We sold our beloved Sti 2 a while back and went 14 months without a scoob, waiting for the type R was so so worth every mind numbing moment!
It was also my dream car and the feeling now stood in the garage with a polishing rag after a few stella's is priceless! <yes I know I'm a sad tw*t!>
so flog your current scoob and go R hunting!
