2005 wrx300 or 2004 sti ????
Hi
need some advice. i bought a wrx 300 about 4 weeks ago from a subaru dealer in Northern ireland. It cost me 15500. Had a few problems with the after sales, minor things but got messed about by dealer. Went in yesterday to complain and told them I no longer wanted the car. Was asked to come back to see the owner today.
I told him my tale of woe and he was upset at how I had been treated. The sales man got the boot a few days previous, seems I wasnt the only one messed around.
Anyway he offered me a 2004 sti type uk, 12000 miles, 18 prodrive alloys for an extra £500. Motor is in great condition and is on the forecourt at 18995.
This seems like a good deal but knowing car dealers you can never trust them.
What do you think fight to get my money back or take his arm off for the STI.
thanks for any advice

Your suffering from buyers remorse in WEEK FOUR of ownership...Your not alone in feeling like this...
However, the good news is you have an exit clause....I suggest you use it...
because...
If your even ASKING this question then either Subaru will NOT be the car for you...
Perhaps you should be considering a mini cooper convertible instead?

Get a refund then buy mine.....
https://www.scoobynet.com/wrx300-t541990.html
Insurance may be an issue with you on an STI.
We paid £380 for the WRX300 whereas WRX + PPP (declared) was £780.....
....hence why we got the WRX300

no second key, along with the rest of it, sounds like it could b a finance reposetion.
have you personaly had it HPI checked, because dealers have been known to sell cars with money owed.
a quick search in this forum will reveal that my local dealer, GMD has just done this to a guy on here.

Take the STI.
Quicker car, better looking car, better specced.
As said above, get the Prodrive spring kit fitted. Makes alot of difference.
A WRX300 is a poor man's STI anyway !

The Sti sounds like a good deal to me but if your not 100% on an Sti you could always get the new 06 hawkeye WRX for less than 16k. It will be a euro import but it will still have warranty and is the same car as the UK dealer will sell you for 21k. I did this but if i had seen the Sti in the link on here i would have probably gone for that with it being so cheap.

Hardly think suggesting a TOTAL rethink constitutes an insult but take it as one if you want to....Sounds to me like you said you wanted OUT and the dealer has 'shifted' you back into a buying position and your making a QUICK nay HASTY decision based on the DELUSION your being offered 'a bargain'...I was only trying to offer a catalysing point of view...
...for the record - personally I think the Mini is a cracking fun, quick, practical and stylish little motor with a 75% retained value after 3 years - which when your scooby is worth at best £5K trade you'll be yet again wondering was that guy trying to tell me something in good faith and be genuinely helpful or was he just being a clever kock?

Sounds a bit like the car is potentially being exchanged because the dealer was a let-down, rather than the car itself. I'd always question an offer like this - why that particular STi and what do they have to gain by offering it to you? Insurance would certainly be better with a WRX300. But nobody can decide this for you - depends on the individual cars in question and on personal preference.

Just because you can't afford the Top of the range car, you shouldn't slag them off. Especially as you aspire to own one.

more bhp means stilover is the better driver . . .Not
Once again . . .
.......Sorry Chav! I just cruise steadily and look cool in my limited edition WRX300 with all the pretty seats, and the pretty blue interior, and fog light cover . . .
Sti, Type R's , Spec C's . . .Sounds like a great big load of sh*t to me! . . .Just a conglomeration of names to mask the fact that your driving is CRAP!
Keep up the good work!

I have type R and love it loads. Much better and more focused than your barge
Now who's go the crap car. Subaru had trouble shifting WRX's so they contacted Max power for their (Can't believe I've been drwan into this) chaviest chavtastic blue seats and other reject rubbish slapped it on called it a WRX 300 then et voila. I'm surprised they sold three let alone 300.
STI all the way mate. Accept no imitations. Or is it limitations
