Default Aprox Car value

I am currently looking at buying a Scooby. I have seen a car i am interested in at my local Subaru dealer. Its a 53plate WRX PPP with 30k on the clock, Uk car of course. Brand new wheels and tyres just serviced and with a tracker monitor. Its up at £13500 but for a straight cash deal i can have the car for £12500. Is this the kind of going rate for the car from my main dealer. Also should i go for the PPP or get a standard WRX.

I was in the exact same position as you albeit
i got my car on credit. Got the motor for 13000.
Knew the salesman so got some cracking add ons
incl prodrive g/****, sti backbox, new tyres etc.
My motors just cracked 50k so they did the t/belt
service for bugger all. I thought i got a pretty good deal

I bought a standard WRX SL Wagon on a 54 plate a year ago for £16K ..... then had it PPP'd a month or two later - if you can get a PPP'd one it will feel alot different ! It is basically how they should have sold the car as standard.

A standard one is completely gutless below 3K but OK above whereas the PPP makes it much, much better low down and considerably quicker overall. A PPP'd car should comfortably leave a standard one if it is going right. Mine is now much, much quicker than it was and I am very happy.

Drive standard WRX and then a PPP'd one and I guarantee I know which one you will want !!

People will say buy standard and remap + change the exhaust, etc - that will get slightly more power than the PPP. However, in my experience is not as easy or certainly more costly to insure than PPP which, for me, cost very little extra - infact no extra with the insurer I went with compared to a standard WRX (but they were dearer than one online for a std car).

Having said this I went for PPP as there was 2 years of the warranty remaining - on a 53 plate now that is not so much a problem!

Go for the PPP, gives you more torque as well as power and improves the drive.

Barney.

Been meaning to ask this question :

When i got my wrx (3 weeks ago) i opted for the walbro
fuel pump, high flow down pipe and green panel filter plus an
sti b/box (free ) - think it goes pretty well. How much more in terms of power / cost would be involved to get it up to PPP performance?

Cheers.

Ohh i have driven the brand new 2.5 and then i got in the PPP. Apart from the distinct exhaust burrble i did not notice the difference untill i opened it up. Then WOW thats different from the standard one.

AFAIK probably just a remap required at around £500 would probably do the trick.

Cheers Barney

The wrx books at around £12,300 retail in GG,without the ppp, so its fairly on the money price wise so if you really like it and can pay £££ just go in tell them you will deal today at(insert your best offer) and see if they will walk away from a deal. Its a buyers market out there.
