New fifth gear is crap.

I learned absolutley nothing about the GP, FQ, ICE or...... can't remember anything else...
But I did learn something about how well a JCB can crush a knackered Golf, Chip fat can go in a knackered merc - possibly (do you have to make any modifications? Only a few, I'm going to service it... WTF?), Creamfields is a rave, a radio controlled car is quick around a kart circuit and a stunt plane is fast around a kart circuit.....
Why o why test them against such things... what is the point? They appear to be trying to entertain us by taking away the very thing you watch the show for... cars..
What a load of irrelevant crap that was... Can we have some car testing next week please???

No idea Wurzel.. I was too busy trying to get a view of the car and it's ICE rather than worry about how good a DJ Annie mac was or how bad Tom Ford was... where were the details apart from how many hours it took to build, how many speakers it had and its Power Output???
Nothing.. absolutely nothing on the car.... I bet the guys who gave them that for the weekend were pleased with their efforts being shown on TV...

I found out little about the FQ360 from an apparently demoted Tiff and quite what it's like on the road is anyone's guess!
I didn't appreciate VBH and wotshisface taking the **** out of the remote control champ in the studio; a bit of friendly banter with the guests is fine, but do it to their faces at least! VBH's admission that she likes to get a car sideways on the way to the shops was ill advised and, again, an attempt to endear her to the Nova brigade!! I wonder if the PC crew will be as quick to condemn 5th gear for promoting irresponsible driving as they have TG, even though none of the presenters of the latter advocate power sliding on the public highway!
The other new presenter was a way too blatant attempt to catch the youth vote, innit?
The only redeeming feature is Tom Ford, who at least has a bit of personality!
Overal, very poor!

NS04. I agree about the cheap shot at the RC guy. He's a British World Champion ffs!!
Plus, what a great way to start presenting a car show by admitiing you know nothing about cars!
Way to go 5th Gear...

Taped it and just watching now. The new presenter as soon as he opened his gob I just wanted him to **** right off.
I agree with the above, it was bad before but they have excelled in themselves in taking it to a whole new level of $hiteness. I am sure they must be just taking the pi$$?

They've lost the plot. After the blatant Top Gear rip off they did in the last series, they’ve obviously modelled the program on Sky’s VroomVroom, which was also bloody appalling.
I was looking forward to the Evo IX FQ360 feature, but what insight did this program give?
No Plato either. He was the show’s only redeeming feature after VBH’s chest.
One for the Max Power brigade I think. 2/10

So Fifth Gear have got themselves a test track...Just like Top Gear.
And didn't Top Gear do that aeroplaney thing, racing a car around the track, except they used a Harrier and not a cheap budget special.

~The only interesting bit was the self driving golf but even that section wasn't that great. At least that presenter seems interested in cars and technology. The others are more concerned about appearing all laddy, cool and chumy and missing the mark completely.
One hour show, so how much did we get to know about new cars? there were none. Just two 'modded/upgraded' versions of cars that have been around for ages.
Will watch next week in case it was just a one off, else there's something else on the other channels. I'm a car nut like many others here and if they can't do a motoring show that appeals to me, let alone non car nuts (this is where TG gets it soo right) then why bother?

It was absolute cr@p - the scripted conversation was the worst bit for me, cr@p format, cr@p presenters - please God don't let them ban Top Gear, at least there is genuine enthusiam and wit amongst the presenters.

(ps , this is not a sympathy post for "the hamster" - just a genuine affliation with what the presenters are doing - Fifth Gear isn't a patch on on Top Gear)
