Not that i'm being tight as I've got £3000 of free fuel, but has anyone got an 06 sti and then had ppp put on it later, if so , any real consequences in Mpg?, as some say it even improves it, due to less revs etc. cheers

I only got 4 laps of the 'Ring per tank in my WR1 last October.........
Maybe the fact I didn't have to stop every lap to go through the barriers so was going flat out down the straight had something to do with it![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)

The WR1 is less economical that the 2.5's due to changes in gearing and nature of the torque delivery - with mine I can drive the whole lap at less than 6500 rpm and still put in a good time

I would love to do the full length of DH though...that would trully be a blast

sorry about the thread hijack but how did the WR1 get on with the fuel there? were you using octane booster aswell?
It was fine on the SUL available locally, but we were putting octane booster in until we ran out lol.

I have 7K miles on my MY06 STI (no PPP) and am averaging 22.07 mpg (I collect every receipt). With some spirited driving I can see off the first quarter of a tank in 35 miles ![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Best I have had is 27 mpg but that was on a run up the M1 on a sat am at 0500 doing 65 mph. That scraped in at just over 300 miles to the tank.
I would imagine with PPP you are looking at 1-2 mpg less. It think the Powerstation upgrade will make it 3-4 mpg less - but they claimed that standard Euro maps often overfuel so you can see a big improvement (not sure how true this is!)

Mapped to your car can often give better economy as there is better low down torque and therefore less frequent high revving and gear changes. Thats what I have found anyway - whereas before, you would change down to 3rd - now it is perfect in 4th (even when pressing on) Plus the overfuelling does takes it toll on the rate at which the tank goes down.
I got just over 30 mpg on a recent trip down to nurburgring averaged across a mixture of mainly motorways and main roads - with a small amount of playing

To be fair though - none of us can/should be that worried about economy - or else we would get Previas

Agree with Dynamix, get well into the high 20's when motorway driving and around mid 20's whilst around town etc. Overall I have averaged 26.5mpg in over 15k with the ppp fitted. The 2.5 is also better than my old WRX ppp and between 1 or 2 mpg better than standard
