Post CAP

Hello everyone?

I have a Q which look really simple but like i said before.. im new to Subaru !

I have a 98 plate Impreza Turbo 2000 UK. My brother added antyfrezz into the engin BUT he had to go out after he filled it up. I turned on the car to warm it up but after 4-5mins later i see smoke coming from under the bonnet

The link below is located to where the smoke is coming from ! Also what sort of cap is it with the purple ring ?

Anty freez?
Oil cap?
Window washer?

i know this may look really stupid to most of you lot but this is how ppl learn by askin!

Cheers every1

Hi m8. Thats the radiator expansion bottle cap. Is the steam comming from around the cap or is it residue spilt on2 the bottle? The bottle should b full to the top. Fill it up put heater on 2 max hot and let idle till fans cut in. Then replace cap and fill level behind the ns headlamp

Not far behind the coolant tank is your turbo housing and if you/he spilt some a/f down there it will smoke as it burns off, not great but no lasting probs. HTH
