Default Just booked in for Power upgrade at API Cant Wait

Well I took the plunge and booked in at API for the upgrade on MY03WRX.

It currently has the ppp on it and is 253.9bhp on the rollers but the new mods will hopefully produce 320-330bhp.

Mods will be:

VF35 Turbo
Full Decat exhaust from turbo back
Ported and wrapped headers
Panel filter
Remap
Sti Pink injectors
uprated fuel pump

Should do for now. Possibly go for FMIC at a later stage.

Booked in at API for two days mid november so will update you's all when its done.

All Prodrive kit is being taken off and sold with the ECU, back box, middle section, intercooler hose etc so if anybodys interested drop me a PM. If not it will be on fleabay after 16 Nov.

Cant wait.

Thumbs up API - David

Agree with ESH - my STi RA is with David at present.

David REALLY knows the technical engineering side and explains everything that is being done/needs to be done to the car.

Unfortunately, since I sold the wrx, i've had a number of problems with my STI. Firstly, it went to TSL for the 333 upgrade but after a week the fuel pump went. I ended up getting stuck on the motorway trying to get it back up to Nottingham. Fuel pump hardly ever have a problem!!

Next it went in to replace the bushes which is a manufacturers default on the 03-04 STI's.

Next it went back to Subaru to replace the shocks cos they had gone. Unfortunately, Subaru will only change one at a time! So it's back in for the other to be changed!!

Think the car has been in the garage more than i've had it on my drive.

Luckily it's all been fixed under the warranty. The car has only done 21,000 miles!! (53 plate) Wonder what the previous owner used it for!!!

Nightmare

Well I can report no problems at the mo with your old car. Still running fine but sporting the STI outer bits. rear wing, bumper mods etc. Just needs wheels now and power......power...power

Excellent. Looks really good. So why didn't you go for an STI in the first place? Surely it would have been cheaper to buy and increase power?

At the time I was about three or four grand short of a good STI, and I didnt want to buy the first cheap one that came up, now I'm not too bad off, but yes I agree it would have been cheaper to wait a while for an STI...because in the end I have spent more on the power upgrade etc already and now without spending a fortune i'm kinda at the limit on power.

In the end also its still a WRX so not worth any where near as much as an STI

but you know whats its like when you want a new car like yesterday

Ahh well its only money I suppose

Not to be too nosey but what is it costing you to upgrade the power from now to 320-330bhp?? I bought mine and it was the standard 265 sti but I went to TSL and had the power upgrade to 333 and it cost me £2100 including a few parts they needed to change before the upgrade.

Nah no probs, Its costing around £2800 give or take £50quid. But that includes removing all the PPP Kit so I suppose really the upgrade is from 225bhp to 330bhp. Which I think is very good.

Thats very good. I was looking around at modifying that car before I sold it but the cost was too high so I didn't bother doing it. I had a look at WRC technologies and other modifiers but they told me the same.
I guess you know the right people to take it too.

If you've not already, have a look at my APi modification experience; you're having very similar stuff done to me.

Dazza, have you tried www.laterooms.com for accommodation; you often find 4 or 5 star accommodation on there going cheap. I got a room in the Devere hotel in Swindon half price using them

I had an Apexi Power FC and Controler fitted. I'm quite sceptical about these claims of improved this and that but must state that things are alot sharper and smoother.

Thanks guys!!
