Question The good old days ...

driving experiences that the youth of today cannot enjoy because of Health & Safety.

1. Three lane single carriageway roads. Overtaking over blind brows in lane 2 and hoping that no-one is doing the same coming the other way Haring up lane 2 at 80mph hoping that no-one in the queue decides to overtake.

2. Gaps in the central reservation on motorways. A quick U-turn if you missed your exit. (Transit van pickups need not apply )

Any others?

How about driving at all these days anywhere compared to when I passed my test (1990). Speed cameras, speed traps, reduced limits everywhwere (in some cases 20 mph lower), road bumps, chicanes , the dwindling filter traffic light, stupidly low limits on motorways through roadworks, growth of the uninsured driver, increased traffic due to cram 'em in the South East policy.

I'm sure I can think of more. Driving used to be enjoyable, it's a chore now.

LOL, yeah, miss that one (like a hole in the head...)

Petrol being half the price. Filling up with about £8 in my Nova SR and it lasting a week.

Wheel spinning a 150 bhp astra through 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear. These new cars have to much traction.
