Default Need a Cambelt Change in the Midlands

I live in Telford & would like to know where locally I can get a cambelt changed. Graham Goode in Leicester & Scooby Clinic in Chesterfield are about 40 to 50 miles away from me. I was hoping for a reputable garage a little closer to home. Anybody know anywhere?

Thanks.

Where about are you. Theres castle performance in newcastle under lyme and also turbosystems. Collins performance engineering in congleton. Those three are close to the midlands. Main dealers holdcrofts in newcastle and chandlers in grantham though theyre near to lincoln

I used to live in Telford.....good to here the name again....funny enough my brother in law works as a mech at the main dealership in Shrewsbury. My old man has an RB5 he still lives in Telford......I have my eyes on that one day

I now live in Leic's.....Gramham is just down the road, and so is Roger Clarke Motor Sports, but I bet those guys will not be far off the dealerprice...personally I do mine myself.

Try Ivan @ Foresters Subaru in Bilston West Midlands.

Independent Garage, knows his Subarus and is very resonable on price.

Have a look on www.foresterspares.co.uk

Top Bloke!

Good luck

I be careful of Foresters mate, they put a second hand clutch in my mates scoob and charged him 500 quid for the privilege he had to go back twice, then ended up putting one in himself.

foresters only think money and are genrally over priced for even the cheapest item, but this is my own opinion

Hi mate, try Subaru at Shrewsbury (Hiltons I think) they're close to Telford. RCM, Graham Goode, Scoobyclinic are all very good, but why shell out petrol costs when your local Subaru dealer can do it for roughly the same price.
My car is due the 50k service soon which includes the cam belt change and my local Subaru dealer is very competitive on price compared to the independants.

Wolfie.

Re Foresters:

I can only tell you about my experiences with them: Supplied & fitted a new bigger Blower, went like stink and still does.

Serviced Wifelet's Scooby, including high performance plugs and, petrol & Oil treatment, £130.

Fitted big Back Box for me, (supplied & fitted) brilliant job, still goes like stink.

Ivan & Julie only seem interested in making you happy for, a very reasonable rate.

I am surprised that people have had issues with them.

Are we talking about the same Foresters?

I'm off to Scoobyclinic next week for 60K service inc. cam belt change - and I'm from the midlands.

Worth travelling to a specialist.

Went into Foresters today to see Ivan re the 2 bad posts.

He is upset, he has never refused anyone a refund. The gearbox was a supply only & he advised the Customer NOT to use the standard clutch with it.

It was returned & a refund given. The gearbox as then supplied to another Customer who used the correct clutch, very happy Bunny.

On the Clutch side, he only supplies and fits new clutches at £350 EX VAT.

ALSO , it's 10% off Servicing this month for ScoobyNet Members.

www.foresterspares.co.uk

Still a top bloke in my opinion!!

scoobyclinic gets my vote.

in truth you won't go wrong with either, you'll get a bigger bill from GG though cos there labour charges are higher.

I will cast another vote for API. I've used a couple of the others mentioned already and they were all great but API are fantastic VFM - they did my cambelt service for me and it didnt break the bank. Not a bad thing when you own a Scoob!

Thanks for that.

Top Bloke, I don't recognise the Ivan we both know in these 2 pots.

Several people rang him up to tell him of the bad posts and to say, they will still use him all the time!

Good old Ivan & Julie.
