Default advise please, going to look at my 1st scooby this afternoon :)

ive spotted a UK 1997 R- reg impreza 2000 turbo with the prodrive upgrades (lightweight wheels and full leather and a/c)

its in the nice dark blue that they come in and looks immaculate.

it has 62k miles with FSSH and cambelt done at 43k.

its up for £5500 which i didnt think was to bad, has anybody got any input on this price, good/bad?

is there anything in particular i should look for with theese cars when i test drive it and look over it?

ive had a few jap turbo cars before (mitsi galant vr-4 and 4 nissan 200sx's, all between 250-350 bhp) so i know the general things to look for, but dont know any specific problems with theese cars. ive heard piston slap can be a problem for this age of car, is there a way i can tell if this has had/will have this?

Cheers
marc

Usual checks are to be done obviously, but check for accident damage and signs of trackday use these cars are usually driven by enthusiasts.
The price and cond sounds ok, but still room to negotiate?
The piston slap noises sound like this http://homepage.ntlworld.com/alan.leslie/.
Click on and listen. HTH.
Good luck.
