Default Looking for a new boot spoiler. Need ideas...

OK, I want to change my boot spolier for somthing slightly more over stated than the Sti4 thats on there at the moment. I dont like the Sti5/6 style where the bottom part goes across the boot lid. I really would want something like the Prodrive spoiler e.g. doesnt sit flat on boot lid and not as high as the Sti5/6. Any ideas anyone?

For a UK MY98(R)

I guess my blasphemy against the STi5/6 spoiler has meant I got 50 views and no replies?!

funnily enough i want to go the other way and get an understated sti v4 spoiler

currently have a wrc/22b style spoiler fitted to my reddish blue saloon, not as tall as the sti v5/6

yeah if you're seriously interested??

there is a slight crack on the top wing, it's right on a moulding line so isn't noticable, the wing has been on the car for 3 years and the crack has been there for about 18+ months without getting any bigger and it seems structually sound - pretty sure it's where someone bounced a basket ball off the top of the spoiler one lunchtime

it's also fixed solidly to the bootlid so it'll be a case of swapping the whole bootlid + spoiler over, only takes 15-20mins or so - oh, and it's got stickers on it

if all this hasn't put you off or you want close up pics or anything else just give me a yell

gljam: I am defo interested.

Yours: -
>If it’s not a pain would you take a pick of the crack please? I appreciate what you say about it not being noticeable and seems sound but I am a picky s0d!
>Will the stickers come off easily?
>What condition is the paintwork in on both boot lid and spoiler, any dents etc?

Mine:-
>Spolier fitted in 2002 when it also had a top quality fresh paint job from a local garage that does Lotus/BMW insurance work. It doesn’t have any marks or bad scratches and is in tip top condition; treated with Swissol wax.
>Boot lid has a little bit of swirling if you look closely where the previous owner was a bit of a Muppet when it came to using sensible cleaning cloths etc! There are no bad marks or dents.

Stuff:-
>What happens with the boot lock if we swap? Never really looked hard at it, will any ignition key work it?
>I’d like to see first hand that our colours match up ok, I guess you would too? We could have different stages of weather/light wear and tear…
>I’m a Muppet mechanic. Is it really easy like you say to swap them?
>I’m in Leamington Spa so just 25 miles up the road if you are in Evesham. Should be easy to meet up.

yeah as stickymicky has said, it's an easy swap of the bootlid lock

bootlid itself comes off with 4 bolts, again easy swap

no probs with the pics, i'll try and get some sorted today, i'm out for a while so probably won't be til this evening

stickers are an easy get off, i can do them before we swap if you want, or they can be removed with a hairdryer + a bit of polish

as for the boot itself + spoiler, no dents, one or two little marks but nothing serious that i've noticed - when i take the pics i'll give it a good look over and note anything i see

spoiler itself was painted in april 2003 by an accident repair place that was repairing some front end damage to my car, the paint both at the front and rear is a perfedt match to the existing paintwork and doesn't seem to have weathered any better/worse than the rest of the car

as you said we're not a million miles away so any time you want to meet up give me a yell

I'll pm you tonight with pics and contact details

Jam
