Wink JDM STi 03 for sale on Autotrader, but not remapped for UK fuel?

I spoke to a seller of an 03 STi JDM on Autotrader, with 16000 miles. The owner is the first UK owner for nearly a year and has not had the car remapped for UK fuel, but just always used super unleaded. Is this ok or could there be any problems in the future, engine wise? I know Tony Burns runs an un-remapped Spec C with no problems! The above car also has Jap service history. Anything I should look for on a JDM in addition to what I would usually check on a UK car? (Apart from accident repair damage, which I will check with a fine tooth comb)

David Hendry doesn't believe in remaps either.

Mines not mapped, had no problems at all. The newage ecu has much better range of retardation to deal with knock so running on SUL should be fine

A customer has a 2003 JDM STi with over 40,000 on it, and no remap. He's done track days, 1/4 mile's.
He has a knocklink fitted, and has never had it light up past the greens.

He probably wont notice it light up, its that quick at knocking the multiplier down its quite amazing, saw red once on mine, car dropped its performance by 40bhp to 280bhp and still ran 300lbs of torque multiplier went from x16 to x8, was running (just filled up) optimax and octane booster.
