Ok, serious answer.
If it's not going Psshhhtttt then it may not be relieving the pressure when the turbo is not being spun by the exhaust gasses and could be stalling, causing damage to the turbo. Best to get it looked at as soon as possible or put the standard one back on. The engine will run better that way anyway.

No neons, no trump valves, no furry dice, no stickers, no seat covers, infact no after market superficial chavtastic components whatsoever........ and I've never even been to Macdonalds in it either......

It's pathetic! the guy comes on here with a simple technical question and we get the same useless coments from the same useless people such as DCI Geneless **** etc.
I would'nt want a noisy dump valve on my car either but each to his own, your so called banter is just getting boring.

'fraid I don't subscribe to this ''each to their own'' train of thought. If you fit a dumb *** mod of any description it will always reflect back on the Impreza marque as a whole as being the vehicle choice of supreme ****-heads.

Try taking it apart and give it a good clean and then re-lube it
Also chack the pipes before and after the valve for air-leakage
Best to get somone to rev the engine lightly, when its cold and listen for air leak or feel round the pipes as if its warm you'll get burnt if you put your hand in the wrong place

stop bickering you lot....
I posted on here a while back, about the loss of power I was having, especially in hot weather.
found it , it was the dump valve sticking, all the grease was dried up.
swapped it for a forge one and all was much better.
as one of the posters said, take it apart (watch out for the big spring that has a mind of its own), clean it with brake cleaner, dry , then lube up and reassemble.
check all hoses.
see if that helps
and ignore the other comments, you always get them from ppl who dont agree with your mods

yeah sorry i earlier post i forgot to mention that all it needed was taken to bits and greased up inside, i could see before taking it apart that the pink grease on it had gone hard thus stoping the actuator from opening!
cheers

Why don't you go and cruise up and down outside Macdonalds in your little chavtastic neon mobile, all that whoooooshing from your trump valve may even attract some chavettes...............

Your either a plod that was bullied at school or a school teacher that's stressed out through dealing with ankle biters all week, or maybe you work at Macdonalds-that's it your Ronald Macdonald himself!
And your always right of course.
