Considering trading in my 97 ITR in against an imported 99 WRX STI Coupe. You can guess what they said over on itr-dc2.com Can you guys convince me?
As I am in Rep of Ireland I can only purchase 95RON fuel Can you advise me on the knock/detting problem. I have seen a place in Northern Ireland that will do an ecu-tek re-map for £650. Is this cheap/expensive?. Will I lose or gain power on the WRX after the re-map.

Use octane booster such as millers (use the search function for various threads on this matter) if you don't get a remap.
Not too sure of the price check PowerStation and Scooby Clinic | The UK's Largest Independent Subaru Specialists.
You should gain power (i don't know if its wise to get it mapped for 95ron though ask the people who will do it).
Can you afford to run the car (without breaking the bank) e.g .are you worried about fuel consumption as they are not the most economical cars.
