Nah don't like it. Never have liked the Focus. All this new edge garbage. It's a blob with a few straight lines in it. IMO.
Adverts on TV have helped poison me aswell. 'king bollox.
I disliked the Escort as well. Not just the Focus.
But I admit to likeing the Mondeo ST200. Don't like the new one though. Interior is good. I also liked the old Cosseh.

Got to be honest m8, it looks like any other Focus (with a Max Power bodykit)
Nothing new or refreshing (like old Escort Cossie at the time). I'm sure it'll go like the proverbial.but at the end of the day it'll have an image problem I'm sure.
Doesn't mean I mightn't be tempted tho'

I like the look of it, but then I like the look of the Std Focus.
I wouldn't buy one though, FWD is crap (IMO) and I like car's to have a door per seat.
Unless this was real cheap, I'd wait for the Cosworth one too.
Ps, What does 'Rally bred pedigree' mean ? I thought Ford raced a 4WD Focus ?

I don't mind its looks but I don't think its a 4x4 so 200 bhp + front wheel drive + wet sounds like you'll be going nowhere and I guess it will be dearer than a scoob.
Look at the Racing Puma 21K same as a scoob, no wonder they have only made 350 out of the initial 1000 run and lost money on every one due to having to start from a fully built boggo puma!!!!. Until they bring out a 4x4 cossie version its just a tarted up hatchback.

Hmm WRC look... One of the biggest differences looks wise on the WRC Focus is the Big Wing - Where is it?
Looks a bit bland... Maybe look better in the metal! But I can see that bodykit appearing on quite a few other cars!
Scott!

I actually quite like it, but does this mean they are no longer working on the Focus Cosworth, or is it somehow supposed to sit in between the std Focus and the Cossie (if it ever appears)?

It looks OK
But the real question is....
What does it go like?
with only 200 or 250 horses, can't see it as being wonderful (unless its very light, like westfield)
And what will it cost - bet its more than the "racing" Puma, which cost a few £K more than the scoob
JD
(who would love to see ford produce something really worthwhile - they have the expertise and the business partnerships but have never really got anywhere near since the RS500 and Escort Cossies)

I think we should welcome enthusiasts of other marques on this BBS. It's good to read such a friendly posting. After all, we are all CAR nuts, aren't we?
Ref the Focus, and Ford in general, I think they lost the plot when they killed the Escort Cossie. I had one and, although unreliable, I loved it for its driving appeal. The Puma is the only shell IMHO which can be made to look sufficiently aggressive - the rally Focus looks too much like a van!
If the Racing Puma looks could be added to 'proper' 4wd (i.e. rear biased) and turbo'd to 250+ bhp, I'm sure it would be a great success. But no chance for the Focus whatever Ford do with it. Sorry.
p.s. If Peugeot let loose with a roadgoing 206 rally copy, there's a mouthwatering prospect!
Can't help feeling the new shape Impreza will encourage many of us to think about other marques. Pity, as the Scooby is so special.

I'm afraid I don't like the look of the standard Focus, and this doesn't do anything to change my mind.
In comparison, the MY01 Impreza is a real stunner! (Well, OK, not really, but it would be if it looked like the new WRC prototype!!).

If the Focus has AWD and is comparable in price to the Scoob, I'd have one tomorrow. Always been a fan of RS Fords. And they're pseudo British, sort of.
It looks better than the new Impreza anyway

I think it looks great, but I can't see there being enough space in the market for two turbocharged Focuses (Focii?). After all, they'll go about the same speed, accelerate as fast (the 2wd version is bound to be lighter) and cost the same to insure.
Me? I'd wait for the Cosworth version.

Yeah, this Focus, low on 18", looks like it's designed by a worldclass team. Don't forget it's also roomy and practical.. still, i think one of the nice things of the NewAge Scooby is that it's a car for the real enthousiast, being far 2 ugly (the car that is) to be bought for Image-Purposes or cool cruisin' ... An Impreza is bought 2b driven,, there is no doubt about that, and the NewAge states that in Bold. (When my dad sees the NewAge he's gonna smile at me and he's gonna say 'so it must be quick son?'.)
