Injectors and a re-map but Id have thought that youll be getting close to the limits of the TMIC at the 360+ that an 18G is good to pump for.

Mike Wood is adamant that the later non-wrapped sports catalytic convertor, used on the '03 onwards cars; will loose less than 2bhp over a decent decat..... Dont 18Gs have a problem with boost creep? Id make sure that I bought the turbocharger from someone who really knew what the craic was.

Id just come back to suggest getting Harvey Smith to fettle your manifold and up-pipe too! It costs very little and Im sure youd see a noticable benefit with a larger turbo like that.

I see that Andy Forrest offers an 18G with a modified wastegate to solve the boost creep issue too.

I currently have full decat, pump, panel filter, ported & wrapped headers & up-pipe.
I'll be going to 18g next month. I was told that only an induction kit would "really" be required to accompany the turbo. Some say the panel filter would suffice. The TMIC is very efficient for circa 400bhp and the injectors are not even that close to being maxed out.
From the direction of a few wise people, including my mapper (Andy F), i'll be getting an APS CAIK, 18g & Blanket, 3 port BS, NGK7 plugs, 3" downpipe & decat and some more Andy F remap magic

Been doing the FMIC battle for months now. Staying TMIC. Don't like the lOOk of the hybrids and financial situations stopped the APS route. Reputable people have stated it will be more than fine.
£1000 would be better spent on 6 pots/ASTs.
The amount of spirited driving it gets anyway cannot justify a FMIC and the whole lag issue (myth?), BOV etc etc, nerr...

Having the car mapped at the end of month (Andy F).
Spec will be:
STI 8 PPP
Full decat
3 port boost solenoid (If I can work out how to fit it before mapping!)
Green filter.
After that the next stage will be a 18g plus whatever you guys suggest to support the turbo.

Andy Forrest quotes 'over 370' (for his fettled TDo5 18g); but Id have thought that it was possible with a cooler charge? I was using 380+ in reference to the TMIC point though, rather than suggesting that an 18g would easlily make it.

I upgraded to the 18G a few months ago following months of uncertainty (18G V 20G). Andy Forrest supplied and I have had no issues regarding boost creep which I understand is more of a concern on the 20G.
Additional mods to compliment included fuel pump; 3" decat system; RCM down pipe; Harvey up pipe and ported headers; green panel filter; Forge recirculating dump valve and turbo blanket.
Now I was slightly disappointed with the initial run on the rollers and it appears these issues can be mapped around. I've researched the new injector and FMIC route in some depth and I was advised the standard sti injectors would suit my required goal (approx 400bhp). Likewise although the FMIC would aid my temps it is not "critical" to my current spec and again the standard TMIC is rated at 400 bhp by the likes of Andy Forrest. That said a more agressive map can be dialled with the aid of a FMIC.......are you going to modify in stages or all at once?
I had plans for a Hybrid FMIC this month but my finances are required for a second car. Prior to my next remap I'm going to fit a 3 port boost solenoid and on the recommendation of Bob Rawle I'm going to maximise my current mods and ditch the panel filter in favour of the RCM 80mm induction kit.

I think Andy's 18g on his car had other trick work done.
Either way, he'll be fine with the TMIC.

should expect around 330/330 with the first stage, then
18g + blanket (£850-£1000)
induction kit (£150-£250)
3" is not necessary, but advised. (£350-£800)
3 port boost solenoid, not necessary, but some advise. (£150)
this will see you around 360/360.
headers & up-pipe will be a good mod (£400)
FMIC (£650-£1000) is optional.
