Why would someone buy a car like that, just to keep it in a de-humified garage.

Get some miles on it!!

Keeping it in the hope it will gain money is a joke, it's a subaru FFS.

There was someone on snet doing just that around a year ago with a 22b. Again a mint example, but can't imagine anyone is going to pay fortunes in ten or twenty years time for a subaru.

It's a stupid amount of money. Mine was sold a year ago for nearly half that. I cannot understand why cars like this are garaged and not driven.

Anybody who pays money like this for a 22b is a mug, plain and simple.

This will be bought by a collector and sold in 20 years or so time for double the money ... that person will then laugh all the way to the bank!! It's the only scoob that is likely to be a true collectors item so well worth it if you are looking for an investment.

Try getting that sort of return at a bank!!

I very much doubt it will double its money in 20 years from now. Even if it does you'll still have to maintain it, I presume insure it, keep it somewhere, lost opportunity invested elsewhere and inflation etc etc.

It should be used the way it was intended not wrapped in a sheet.

I doubt it very much. Stranger things have happened though.

I doubt even a collector would pay £45k for a Subaru, even a 22B.

Lets see if this one sells first. At £45k, I'll faint if it does.

I know 5 collectors that are interested in buying it. One guy wants it to add to his mint condition Escort Cosworth (500 miles on the clock) and his Lambo Countach 25th Anniversary edition with 22kms on the clock!!

The Uk spec 22b will be a collectors car. especially an un-raped one like this. It is inevitable!

Default Mad money

But how much of that price is locked into the number plate. I found one with a number close to that, and they wanted £3750 for it. I know its not much in contrast, to the overall price but it will push it up.

But for that money you can get a good low milage DB7, would rather have that myself.

do you get a kick out of doing that then?

IMO it's nice to see a perfect mint condition example of a subaru instead of the usual ragged to **** carbon fibre modified skips that usually go up for sale!!

Good luck to the sellers - although I'm pretty certain they won't need it

Very much doubt he'll double his money in 20 years.

1) You'll have to garage it and maintain it for 20 years.
2) You'll have to live for another 20 years.
3) lOOk like a saddo having such a weapon in the garage, but not driving it.

Cars != Investment. Property = Good-Investment.

If I had more money than sense .....I would buy it and put an offer to Mitsubishi for the delivery milage Tommi Mac that is kept in reception of Mitsubishis's headquarters in Cirencester, Glos

Now that would be a collection - and no, I would'nt drive them, just look at them.

Sad Eh?

Cars are as much a piece of art as they are a method of transporation. I personally would much prefer to have a warehouse full of the most exotic and goregous looking cars than a room full of 20th and 21st century art. Take The ferrari 355 for example. I wanted one for years and years and years. then after driving one my dreams were shattered. However I could stand and look at one for days. If I could I would put one in a glass cabinet and have it on display in my house!!

Cars such as the F series Ferraris, Cosworth series Fords, Zagato series Astons will hold their money as much as a house will. I firmly believe that a mint condition 22b such as this one will easily double in value. Especially considering the time value of money in 20 years time. There are Rally heritage collectors out there (and lots of them) and such a car will appeal to them.

I for one would love to take my kids (when I get any) to see a mint condition car of my youth in 20 years time!

All is of course IMO.

Been for sale for a couple of months now I think. Have been to see the car and it is in amazing condition. I think it's owned by one of the Adams family. Well over priced, but lovely nonetheless.
