Default Stansted Airport Parking

Anyone left their scooby @ one of the airports parking facility?

Just checking how safe it is and if you have to leave your keys with them!

Assuming you are talking about the long stay carpark. I leave my scooby there about 4 times a year for between 3-7 days at a time and never had any problems. It is well lit, quite open (nowhere for the little b*stards to hide) and I have seen security patrols as well.

Have never left my keys with them, not sure why you would do this, shuttle bus is very frequent and only takes about 8 minutes to get to the terminal

My Evo was stolen from there and as I never make a note of where it was parked I was left looking for it for a good hour before I found out .

You pays your monies and you takes your chances.

Other cars have been fine there though.

thats the thing any other car i would not hesitate to park there!

its just the scoob stands out a little and i would always worry about it!

do i or dont i?

Its not the long stay parking but the mid stay parking facility and for £34 (2 days) i would expect 24hr security!

Left mine there for 4 weeks last year, was still there when I came back, which was nice!!

Suggest you go for a dislok (metal one not plastic) for peace of mind, only way they are taking it then is on a truck and someone may notice that a little!!

NO WAY, DO NOT DO IT! I left my 04 type 20 at Birmingham airport NCP, 2 months ago. shuttle buses, barriers, so called sercruity patrols, still got nicked. And no-one saw a thing. A sh** load of hastle for 2 months sorting it out. I will never take my new scooby anywhere and leave it where they know they have at least a few days if not a week to nick it. Play safe and leave it at home!!!!!!!

I also recommend a Disk Loc.
Well worth some additional piece of mind.
Shame we cannot afford a sniper to guard over the car, and shoot on site the thiefs and hooligans who keep knicking the badges on the car as well.
The word would soon get round.

Heard a lot a bad news about Birmingham Airport on this Site over the last couple of years,I would avoid this one.

Take the train or a taxi. Not worth the worry. Any situation like airport parking for a few days we go in our 9 year old Fiesta. So if you haven't got an old banger as well I would taxi/train it.
