Buying a wagon.....
Hello all been on this forum for months now... been saving my money to buy a wagon, hopefully next couple of weeks and i will have enough cash! Looking to spend about 4.5k. Done a bit of homework and have decided to go for a uk car just to play it safe and for lower insurance cost's.
My main question really is what should i expect? and be looking out for? never driven a 4wd, currently drive a saab 900 ... it gets me from a-b (just). Did have corrado g60 running about 190bhp before how do you think it will compare? i know best bet is to go a drive a couple just thought you guys could give me an idea. Thanks

Best value should be a UK spec Euro import, very similar to the UK car, identical performance, most insurers accept them as UK too. Many Euro Imprezas were imported from Holland/Belgium around 1999-2000 because of favourable conditions (exchange rate etc..). Also from 1999 onward the ECU can be remapped using the Ecutek software to give improved performance & fuel economy.

You're at the wrong end of the country for wagons - NE Scotland is Subaru territory and there's wagons aplenty up here. I've an STi V3 wagon plus a Legacy GTB twin turbo estate. If you're looking for something with space I'd have a good look at the Legacy as well.

Going for a spirited drive and not getting noticed by plod
Not getting unwanted attention from chavs and towcers
Good for seeing the look on other drivers faces when you plant the loud pedal and disappear into the distance.
There's a lot more to the wagon than gold wheels and WRC stick-ons.
Can any of you wagon pilots out there add to my list?

The wagon is less noticiable/less in your face. There fore more of an uber wagon, like the Alpina B32 Touring/ Audi RS2/ Schnitzer S32/S6 V8/RS6 Avant. Less is definetley more
I would of other than this bought an evo if they had them as estates/ wagons or whatever people may want to call them

At NBO where there are over 400 scoobs, there were 16 Wagons and they were all on our Wagon Stand. At SBO 2005 there were only 4 wagons
With ESC being one of the most active and scoob packed regions we only had 5 wagons that I know of.
...so that percentage does make them unusual and kind of unique
Here's our Ver5 STi anyway
