I bought a subsidised Disklok from West Yorkshire Police; from the CPO in a small station near to Wakefield (just off the M62E). A Dipol-type gear lock is a better although less visible deterent.

How well your alarm has been fitted is always an issue, but you can make it a lot more secure by fixing it in a sturdy metal enclosure. I first saw this in a Porsche in about 1992 but no one esle seems to have done it.....

I've been told that the ******* may have accessed my alarm through the bonnet vent. Is that possible, or probable? Can the alarm be re-sited?

The best place for the control unit is behind the dashboard (which requires that the dash be removed, most fitters wont bother); safe inside a rivet-secured cover. I have heard that acomplished thieves may come equipped with a number of common alarm control untis which are already set in 'valet'. If all alarms still came with all black wires too theyd be more secure but be isolating the control unit you make a thieves job a lot harder.

I have misplaced the working key; the spares are in a big key box in my safe. I will bring them on Wednesday, along with Louise's DVD and both magazines.....
