Unhappy Anyone recovered from this mess before?

Just wondering has anyone ever been at this stage before and was dreading putting it back together as i am!!

Is there anywhere online that gives a detailed description of re-installing the dashboard?

If all the cables are labeled it shouldn't be too much of a drama.
Make sure all the screws that hold the dash are in and tight, and that the dash is seated propally before you go all the way, or it will rattle like hell.

Heater matrix was it?

Shove it all in and hope it fits.....with no rattles, leaks or annoying clicks....

It sure was the heater matrix!!! What a job lol and i've only had the car a week!! At least i'm getting to know it though.

It's all plug and play pretty much so 'shouldn't' go too far wrong when i get it all back together. Got a handful of about 40 screws so they must fit back somewhere!?!? Here's hoping!!!

I've just come from that on my cossie. It's not as hard as it looks really. everything seems to slot back into place and if it was you that removed it you should find it easier putting it back. I bought mine with no dash so it was harder.

Cool

Your a brave man, a few years ago i went to look a Celica GTI, on veiwing the seller said that the heater matrix had gone so we did a bit of haggelingon price.
I promised my mate i would do in on my next day off, only take half a day!!
It took me 12 hours to do the job not including 80 mile round trip to get it recored plus 3 hours while they did it.
SO best of luck hope it all goes back alright.

Dixie.

It looks like a nightmare but is the sort of thing that can be worked out logically and only takes time and methodical approach. Someone that knows what they are doing would do it complete in well under 3hrs MAX perhaaps 2 hrs subject to state of wiring.
Start by checking for loose wires or cut wires that have no connections. This is the bit that will take the time.
Why was the dashboard removed?

Putting the dash in is relatively straightforward.

Maybe not but I wish I could get the nut out of the hose to the air vent to the driver side windscreen. I have used a magnet, even left a magnet down there for a week, tied on to a bit of copper electroplating wire.
with the radio off and not too much throttle it is most annoying as you go round left and right corners and the G-force rolls it about making an awful noise.
Dash has to come out for flocking as it has gone all horrible with the sun so it will be found then I guess.
