It seems that the pipe is blocking the exit from the box:

As discussed on the phone today that's the norm for the 114mm tailpipe on the new age systems up to MY05 as it has to be offset to stay central in the bumper cutout - the MY06 has had to be changed in design..yet again.
The pic is deceiving from that angle it looks like the pipe is slightly blocked, but if you put your hand in the tailpipe the tube leading into the tail trim is not blocked and is fully open in the little extension part between main back box and tail trim (photo no 2).
This insert, although may look odd is to restrict the noise on a 1-box system so that they are okay for track days.....and the plod!!!
Hard to explain from those two pics, but if you have the tail-pipe in front of you you can feel there is no restriction - just dont do it when its hot!!!
LOL
Hope this and our earlier phone call helps explain, feel free to call us if your still unsure in anyway.

Hi Colin,
Yes, i'd already posted here before you got the pics, damn email servers hey!
I had not seen the exhaust and it was the fitter who pointed it out, saying they thought is was restrictive and possibly faulty.
I have, since our conversation & fitting, put my hand in and you're right. The hole is not blocked it goes into the bend, then the tailpipe.
Cars sounding great, plenty of rumble, even though limped it (<3k rpm) home before remap, no drone, and quieter than the Afterburner/Ninja combo i had on previously, which is what i was after.
Can't wait to hear it on WOT on monday.
I'm sure my daughter and wife will appreciate this exhaust more.
