I was wondering if it was worth joining the Subaru Impreza Drivers Club.
Then i thought "i wonder how many SN users are Members of SDIC" as this might be a good indicator.
Are you a member?

I was going to join but all they seem to chat about every time i go on is
Whos Birthday it is
Whos pregnant
Whos had a baby
whens the next tea party and biscuits meet
Blah, Blah, Blah
stick to scoobynet, You will have laugh and get all the scooby info you need.
Also Bubba Poo is right about the layout, Its difficult to use and when trying to read the posts i think i need some glasses as its so light.

Yes it is definately worth joining.
They organise lots of meets and events, and the best thing is if you ask a question there are no trolls there to slag you off and be abusive, just lots of helpful people.

I use it far more than Scoobynet, as said no trolls.
The events are great to one of my favourite things about the scooby scene is the shows, then theres the discount you can get back from companies for being a member my membership pays for itself most years
Well worth it

The SIDC is a drivers club with all associated member features, useable friendly forums (not full of birthdays and very little slagging off like here).
Scoobynet is only really a forum, SIDC is a club with a forum.
Don't forget all the discounts available at dealers and other places, plus the trackdays etc.

I used to be a member but stopped as found I did not do enough miles to get any benefit from the discounts.
Also, all the track days always seem to be in Scotland or down south which is no good for me.

If your planning on visiting the shows throughout the year, then yes it's worth the £35 to join, as parking is normally in better locations and a little bit more sucure as theres always someone near the cars. plus you don't have to park with the door dingers.
You also get discounts, if your planning on a big purchases then the 10% saving sometimes is alot more than the membership fee, some also do the 10% on servicing so the big services will be cheaper.
If you don't go to the shows and don't really buy anything for the car or plan not to use a dealer for servicing, then no it's not worth joining.

Its definately worth joining the SIDC. It a much friendlier place than on here and the membership benifits easily cover the cost of the joining fee. Theres the shows, the dealer discounts for servicing and parts, the discounts at 3rd party specialists, the SIDC insurance scheme. Then theres the driver training days and the track days..........the list is endless

I am a life member of SIDC, and have grown up with it from the early days. The Committee put in tremendous effort, much unseen, and are improving the relationship with Subaru UK which hopefully will benefit us all.
Some people moan about the membership fee - never understood that - it's 67p a week.

Joining costs about £30. This then entitles you to discounts at participating garages. Your first service will save you more than the cost of membership.
In adition, you get a SIDC tax disc holder, SIDC window sticker, and a regular magazine posted to your house.
You can join the SIDC forum which seems to be more guys who know each other having a chat, rather than here where people want technical informatioin or an opinion on something.
If it is your thing, the SIDC can be good for meets/ trackdays etc however even if that is not your thing, you save money by being a member which surely is reason enough to join.........
