Default My car needs straightening

Backing out of my drive, BIG campervan at the bottom of it couldn't see a thing past it so waited a few seconds then edged my way out BANG Got Rear ended. Not much damage to the fiesta that hit me so i paid for her car to be fixed rather than go through the insurance, but now i need to fix mine any body have any idea how much it is to get a car jigged?

Cheers

Gettin a car Jigged ain't cheep mate, whats the damage? Quarter pannel, rear pannel?
Best bet see if u can get the car to a garage to get an estimate or if u can't get to the garage ask if they can come out and do an estimate off site?

The bodyshop i took mine to charged £300 to jig both front chassis legs and weld on a section of inner wing and leg on one side which i supplied. Scoobybits are a your best bet for a cut.

You've assumed the insurance claim would go against you; wasn't the Fiesta travelling too fast - you are supposed to be able to stop in the distance you can see.

sounds like a load of cop BS to me - Agree with poster above - Fiesta was travelling too fast ! If she couldn't see she should have SLOWED DOWN.

Bet she was a fat bloater eating a mars bar - n' all.

Also - as far as i am aware - most cars are fitted with reverse gears - don't think it is illegal to reverse out of a drive yet is it ???

I wasn't expecting that much damage. Why didn't you go through insurance? The damage to your car looks very expensive

the reason i didn't go through the insurance is because i've got 5 years ncb and didn't fancy paying another grand on top of my already high premium

A bit hard to say off the pics TBH...

But, anything after the rear axle, is not really structural or related to the suspension pick up points of the car.
It would need to go onto a body jig to straighten the rear chassis leg back to where it should be.
Panel wise it would also need a rear wing, rear panel, boot floor, boot lid.
It's not a bad crash/repair, but neither is it a cheap one

The cost of these panels, along with the cost of the repair, would IMHO, outweigh the cost of going and buying another car...

Better off selling the car as a breaker to a Subaru specialist, or break yourself, and buy another car...

been offered a rear quarter, back panel and boot floor off another car and i already have another boot, bumper and light. Is it not just a case of pulling it back to shape cutting the damaged panels and welding some new ones on ?
It hasn't touched the wheel at all and its just caught the chassis leg

That's a bad one, 20mph impact by the looks of it, not much structure in the boot of these. Has the roof flexed?? (look for chages in reflections). If it hasn't flexed, it is repairable ). But the cost of doing is going to outweigh the cars value anyway imo. (well, you can reapir it with a flexed roof, but nobody worth their salt would want to as its a pain to do right and would cost even more).

If it was a RS500, it would be worth (done a few in the past ). This, bearing in mind how much Subaru panel sections cost is not going to be worth it.

An insurance company would write that off as being uneconomical to repair.

They would be right. You will be far better off breaking it, selling the bits on ebay and buying another. There's a lot of work in getting that right again.

no there is nothing in the roof at all, but i'm thinking 250 for jigging, 200 for somebody to cut the panels i need of a car they are breaking e.t.c., 250 for the welding and about 350 for spraying. Are these prices unrealistic ?

might be worth finding a car with an engine thats gone bang and transplanting all the bits you can to it, the repair looks like it will cost you a hell of alot of money
