Default AAAAH! Broke my Gauge Needles!!!

Hi, Please help me out of a right mess i've made. I fitted new white dials to my 94L import WRX. They look good but would look even better with some instrument needles ! ! ! Has anyone got an import Instrument dash for sale ? ? Main bits i could do with is a good unscratched clear front piece, speedo needle and both fuel and temp gauges in there entirety. Or just the whole dash, anything to get me back on the road ! !
Tried numerous breakers but no luck so far.
Cheers Jamie.

Hi, If you havent already...an add in the wanted section should see you sorted.

If you ever try to do this job... start the car from cold and take a picture of the speedo (maybe several clear closeups of the gauges)

Remove the speedo and apply some heat to where the needles fit (with a blow drier or similar (this will make it easyer to take them out)

In order to take them out just use a couple of tea spoons (use them paralel and leverage the needle up)

Fit your white dials and reassemble everything minus the needles and front screen.

Take the speedo back to the car and reconnect.

Start the car up (from cold) and now you can grab them pictures you took and use them as reference to refit the needles to their original position)

After the needles are fitted replace the front secreen and all the rest....Job done.

A bit of pacience and no rush is required along with a bit of common sence

Its a pisser isn it? Theyre advertised as 'easy fit' "you dont have to remove the needles", which is a complete lie.

Yep...the thing with ebay is that you always find the odd goulable one to take them up on the offer.

The problem is though, that that is taken from Lockwood's own advertisments. The only 'easy-fit' adaption is on the small gauges, the large needles still need to be removed.

If I hadnt paid next to nothing Id be pissed right off.

Default My ***** Up!

Quite right. If your going to insult me at least learn to spell correctly you mong!
I,ve had many a good deal on flea bay! The dials were Lockwood and are good quality! It does state that you need to lever the speedo off with two spoons in a gentle manner. Which i did. However, i failed to account for too much vodka on board!! It states to cut the old Fuel and Temp dials off with scissors. Despite doing this i didn't realise just how delicate the metal needles were. Hence my problems. Just made a call to the Scooby breaker (number given on here) and he has a UK speck clock complete with delivery for £62. Solves my problem but if i just swap the "guts over" as he states, would it still fit. I'm dubious of this as do not think will be same screw locations?
Cheers Folks.

Did the same when I was fitting a Lockwood white-glow dial kit. Only broke the fuel gauge needle mine, not all 4 :|

Ordered a replacement (2nd hand) gauge from Scooby Teknik 01253 871188; ask for Andy.
