Why does my engine struggle to start sometimes?

Hi all,
About one in every twenty times I start my car the engine will turn over for about 10 seconds before firing up. This will happen with either a cold engine or a warm engine. Most of the time the engine turns over & fires up after about one second. Just wonderd what might be causing this long starting trouble. Car is an STI 5 with 70k on the clock. Was thinking about changing the plugs. Maybe that would sort it.
Cheers,

Don't know how all cars do this ![Confused](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/confused.gif)
I've never had a car not start first time unless the battery was knackered.

Sometimes it takes a few seconds for the fuel pump to prime. Try turning your key to the ignition position where the warnin glights come on, wait about 2 secs and then turn the starter.
