Whats a throttle body
#2
Everycar has a throttle body, just depends what size. All it does is just let a bit more air into your engine, you will notice 1-2bhp by putting on a bigger one nothing to shout out about at all lol, so tell him good luck in his nova.
Usual circumstance is 1.2 nova has taken a 2 litre throttle body off a calibra or something of the likes

Standard Nova will have a single carb or a single throttle body as part of the plenum injection. He'll have taken that off and fitted 4 individual throttle bodies, one for each cylinder. The fuel injection equivalent of a pair of twin webers.
On the Astra 16V engine a set of SBD tapered throttle bodies and a decent exhaust is good for 208bhp, up from the standard 155bhp, so a worthwhile mod.

Vauxhall's 1.6 16V engine (C or X16XE) is a very tuneable engine. I used to run a track car (Corsa), with TBs, engine management, steel rods, pistons etc. 215bhp at 8250 rpm (rev limit of 9000rpm) made it pretty rapid - once rolling, up to 80mph, it was no slower than my current MY03 STI running 340bhp. Stripped out Novas weigh around 750kgs - with 200bhp, they have a power to weight ratio similar to a Newage Scoob running close to 400bhp. Of course, at higher speeds, from a standing start and in wet conditions, a Scoob will **** all over them

Normal thorttle bodies mean the above pic, as in the plural bodies I.e more than one. Best thing you can do to get the most out of a normally aspirated engine
Usually it means a set of Webber DCOEs, but in this modern age of tree hugging, it's EFi bodies and mappable ECUs instead, with less flame spitting and more geeky types playing with laptops
