Default Where does it go????

The gearstick in my sub is slack between 1st and 3rd, where does the spring go and what length do i need? I've looked on the service manual but there doesn't look to be any mention of a spring (specification).
I've put one between "17" and "18" but it doesn't make the slightest bit of difference.

Depends how strong the spring is Andy.

if you have spring that's strong enough, you'll probably find it's quite hard to "hook on". Best bet is to undo the nut and take that washer off (18), fit the spring and then refit the washer and nut. The spring is approximately 25mm long or thereabouts.

Default Thanks.

Thanks for the reply Alan, I will give that a go. Would you advise taking the plate off that sits below it?

Probably too late now for you Andy. All you need to do is remove that nut and washer to hook the spring on to that end, then pull the washer into place. Once it's on, the nut will go on no problem.

Alan cheers mate, its not too late. After yesterdays effing and blinding campaign I decided to leave it be and take the dog out instead. Round 2 will probably be between Christmas and new year.

Thanks again
Andy.
