Two more Cons:
3) Super Unleaded Petrol Only
4) Warranty Cover
However, you can always use Octane Booster, and buy private warranty cover. There are still plenty of places to keep an import well serviced too - at a price.
So buy it anyway - the pro's always outweigh the cons - and you'll have no regrets...

I have a sti v3 vltd and obviously being biased they are the dogs Bo~#[x. I havent actually had the car long enough to have it serviced but parts and mods are all readily available and i think the pros far outweigh the cons. Infact there arent any cons.

Super Unleaded is a con ?? I'd bet that a large chunk of UK scoob owners run on SUL.
Servicing should be no problem, you'll get plenty of help from fellow 'grey' owners on this forum. Insurance will be higher but I'd gor for it if budget allows. Better car for less money. I'd have gone for an import but for the insurance.
Neil.

Yes you're probably right.
So perhaps I should have said the extra cost of SUL was the con - not to mention finding it at the pumps in some parts of the UK.

You are correct that SUL does cost more, but then with a verions 4, you dont have to use Super - it is just better. If you do a track day, then just use octane booster. And the insurance I am paying is double that of the Uk car - so 4p a litre become pretty irrelevant to the petrol. I wouldnt be without my Sti though - lets face it, better things cost more money - pay up and smile.

Just seen your e-mail, I have a STi 2 purchased it from a dealer just outside Newbury, I would recommend them to anyone, they probably have what you are looking for, what I would suggest you do is check the after sales service, also does the car come de-limited, does it have a warranty, do they service, do they have a parts department, are you comfortable with the company, I have heard of so many people jumping in to quickly, it is very important to buy from a company who has all this on site along with experience, it is worth paying that bit extra for this.
I say go for it.
E-mail if you would like the telephone number and address for the dealer I purchased my car from, it is not often that I purchase a car from a dealer but these people I am on my 2nd.
