If you're pottling through built up areas you'll probably avoid detection. If revving the nuts of it then you might get unwanted attention.
I had the Ninja/Afterburner setup and miss it...

Whilst i don't feel guilty at all now with my kiddo in the back. I've lost some love for the car. Just cannot provoke any pops/bangs and it just sounds dull compared to the other setup.
Wifey says she can still here me coming from miles away, but the previous setup was superb in build and sound in comparison. (Revo slash cut lOOks crap!)

There is however a decibel limit on cars, not too sure what it is.

I have the full afterburner system (de-cat dp, de-cat centre and vortex bb) and have had it fitted for the last two years. No trouble with them so far (touches wood) .
I have been stopped a few times and they have never commented on the exhaust.

Posted in other thread legal is 108db and the same for a lot of track days. Cops in scotland are going to be issued with decibel meters to nab cars as loud exhausts have been an easy ticket for years on bikes - you can inspect the exhaust no problem on a bike - the idea is to stop anti social cruoozers waking up kids by driving past houses all night.

In my classic scooby i've been pulled in Telford (near wolverhampton) for my exhaust being too lould.
Had a decat from the downpipe .. the policeman said if he had the right apparatus he would have been able to measure the Db's but he got on his knees and put a torch up the back box and baffles were present. If they weren't i would have had to pay a fine.
Not too sure what the law is tho !!

I'm amazed my Land Rover doesn't get pulled. Although generally its plodding along and burbling at 2000rpm most of the time round town so doesn't gain too much attention.
4000rpm is a different story. Its just silly loud. I'm currently bodging some silencers off a Triumph stag that should shut it up a bit without costing more than £50

I had a Hyundai Coupe F2, with stainless Powerflow system, still catted and it failed the mot on noise levels
Apparantly, the exhaust has to be of equivalent sound to that of the standard system
The testers acid test was and I quote " I decide whether I would want this car starting up outside my house, if I wouldnt, then I fail it on noise levels"
