Default help wanted. urgent!

hello fellas,

just been to look at a classic with a friend, just wanting to know if its what the lad says, a 1996 sti in white, or where i can find out

vin plate had
model no. GC8D4ED
engine no. EJ20KDW6PR

HPI CHECK, thats the best way, ok you have to spend £50 but its worth it in the long run

have a search (I used it for my purchase)

Series code G=Impreza S=Forester B=Legacy etc.
Body type F=Wagon C=Sedan
Engine type 8=2.0L Turbo
Year code A=MY93 B=MY94 C=MY95&96 D=MY97 (facelift) E=MY98 F=MY99 G=MY00
Number of doors 2=2 door coupe 4=4 door saloon 5=5 door wagon/hatch
Model type 8=WRX 7=RA type E=Sti D=Sti Type R & RA

but did it tell you if its been involved in an accident? write off, outstanding finance?

Its a V3 STI; the applied model number is simple to work out. D = MY97 and ED = STI.

just had a look and mine is a V2 STI 555 Limited Edition Vin Plate , anyone know wot this might mean , ie after sales???? The car its self any info would be great
