Cool

Hi,

Well, I've decided that I missed the scooby too much
and heeded the warnings over Evo's being 'hard' every
day cars (lots of people have said that).

So this is what I am getting...

Now, a couple of questions:-

Is it 'sacrilege' to modify this car in any way?
It already has the Prodrive Performance Pack and a decat downpipe but what other mods would you recommend along the lines of brakes and suspension (AP 6's and LEDA?).

Matt

Thumbs up

Shes a beaut Matt
Sacriledge to modify an RB5? No way!!!!

I would definatly get an ITG filter and the bumpsteer mod on top of what it already has. Not very expensive and good mods.

When it comes to brakes and suspension im not really your man as
i don't have first hand experience, but it seems that AP 6 Pots
are the best money can buy (costly tho!), plus plenty people on
Scoobynet are running Leda and love it. I presume your RB has the
Prodrive suspension anyway so maybe you don't need it?

Enjoy it anyways

Kos.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply ...

I was thinking about an air filter (ITG did spring to mind) but can you recommend an induction kit and also tell me of any problems? (I know some people had problems with the MAF sensor)?

Matt

Lovely car Matt
Unfortunately she comes with the standard suspension so i think there are a few ways that you can go but not an expert on that
Brakes on the other hand are one thing ive upgraded on my MY00 PPP'd turbo and brembo 4 pots are great i think there is a kit from scooby sport that would suffice you as unless you want to do track days the AP6 pots are a little too much for road use.
I also hear that the K&N kit is good but is frowned upon by Subaru dealers if your car is still warrantied (take it it is being a uk car). You could always have the prodrive settings done to improve handling?

Thanks Tony,

Do you mind me asking how much you paid for your 4-pots? Also... on my old WRX I had P1 4-Pots ( I assume the RB5 has the same brakes), are the Brembo's much better than those? (I was thinking of the AP 6's).

Matt

i had a hks induction kit fitted and it burnt out the air flow, i have now a k+n fitted and have had no problems with it, and it sounds great. also have fitted a set of ap 6 pots and are brilliant stopping power, a bit on the dear side but well worth it.

AP 6 pots are amazing you can drive hard all day long and not have to worry about brake fade. They have to be the best mod I have done on my MY00 UK even though they cost £1800 they are well worth it in my opinion.

My m8's got one (well at least I think he's still got it - you're not buying his are you ) & he changed the wheels. Can I suggest that if you do you keep the old ones as they are limited & not easy to get hold of if you ever want to sell the car later on. Other than that all i've got to say is Morettes, Morettes, Morettes You know it makes sense.

MAFFA

p.s. don't colour code them they look bad *** in black.

Thanks for the replies guys, I've been in a car with 6-pots (Mike Tuckwoods) and they are scarey monsters... whole new experience for the passenger heh

As for the Morrettes... defo not my thing I'm really, bit too 'Max Power'ish (that'll get em going )

I like the wheels so I don't think I would necessarily want to change them, although it did cross my mind... i.e. get some others to keep the 'special' ones in good condition etc.

Have any of you guys got 22B style bonnet vents?

ta,
Matt
