Default intercooler spray

a m8 has told me instead of using water i.e bottled water for the intercooler spray to use windscreen wash as it keeps the intercooler cooler than what water does, is this true and what effect would it make to the intercooler over time, its a hybrid intercooler if this helps.

Hi,

Washer fluid should keep it cooler as there is normally some kind of alcohol in it to stop it freezing. This evaporates quicker and therefore should cool better..

My spray is contained in the rubber surround on the top mount so hopefully wont touch the paint, should just run down the back of the engine/gearbox...

Dont do it..

The screenwash can turn scummy like what you see at the bottom of the washer bottle, thus clogging the jets.
