Yep - works great for me too. BP Ultimate was ruled out in the first week of ownership. Optimax is good, but expensive round here, Tesco 99 is cheap and I seem to get good MPG out of it.
Its a winner.

I have had a number of remaps due to adding more mods.
the last one was a bit odd, before the remap, Tesco 99 was like lunatic soup inside the tank, post remap it's like I pi**ed in the tank, odd
incidentally, I had about half V Power and half Tesco 99 in the tank when it was mapped

Used v power first of all then tried teco 99 as it was cheaper and noticed car seemed to pull better , went back to v power to confirm it and back to tesco 99 and stayed with tesco 99 since .

i swear by tesco 99 in my uk turbo. doesnt necessarily need super unleaded, but its what its getting.
v-power is ok, but mpg is worse to be honest, and she runs that little bti smoother on tesco

I was told by the guys at Powerstation (in no uncertain terms) to run mine Optimax. I was told that if I have to use BP or Tesco 99, that I shouldn't drive it hard.
I have used Tesco a bit, and of course you can't fell much of a difference (i very much doubt anyone can if they're honest).

Sorry to hijack the link but do any of you reset your ecu's when you change fuels? I've done it and I'm convinced car accelerates faster and has more power, could be imagining it?

It's not hard on a classic, Disconnect battery for 30 seconds
We don't get Tesco's 99 down my way, we've just had a brand new Tesco's Extra open, the biggest in wales and they stick 97 ron on the pumps, I'm sure the local road rally guys we're happy about that.
Good jub we've 10 Shell station all within 20 miles of where I live

I've been using Tesco Super unleaded since day one of owning my Impreza, best one by far in my opinion and its 89.9p/litre at my local one
I live in Leeds and we have it.
Has anyone round London area used the BP High Octane feul yet?? 104 RON, its about £2.50 a litre or something daft.

considering installing PPP on my 06 sti (uk) and noticed on Prodrives site they say that 97 Ron fuel must be used. Any comments?
Also is there any tesco 99 in the north east (newcastle / south shields)?

I think when place quote something like that, they must mean 97 RON or better surely. I would've thought a higher RON fuel would be better for the engine and would help run even better than 97.

higher ron would leave less deposits in the engine and provide purer combustion but then again, it depends on the mapping...

A big new(ish) Tesco Extra in Alloa went straight from no SUL to 99RON.
I'd expect in due course they'll all have 99RON.

The higher the RON the better, the higher the RON the more the fuel can resist detonation so you can run higher compression, more ignition advance, more boost. I doubt you would get the full benefit of running 104 RON fuel in your car anyway, it would bepend on your existing mods. Dont get me wrong you would get a performance hike but only as high as existing components will let you like your intercooler for example.

i believe you could just unplug the wires of your ecu for a minute or so and plug back in whilst car is off...youll find it under the passenger side footwell
