Default Which to go for?

Just come back from Subaru dealers and am now confused.

My original idea was to purchase an 05 plate STI (with PPP). The dealers are having an 06 STI (non PPP) newer shape car delivered and are offering me a pretty good deal to purchase this one.

I'm now a bit lost as I overheard a guy saying that the newer shape (2.5l) car is a little less fun to drive than the older car?

Can anyone let me know the true differences in the cars - has anyone owned both?

Cheers

06 STi, you wont regret it, and dont forget you can have ppp fitted later. I came from a 54 plate to an 06. The 2.5 hasn't got the 'bang' that the 2.0 had, but the power is there alot lower down the rev range and to me generally feels quicker day to day. Mine isnt ppp, but i've changed the centre section and back box which has given it the proper noise back.

Welcome to SN by the way!

I suppose also depends on the deal you are being offered.

As said, try both and see which YOU prefer, but remember just because the dealer seems to be giving you a good deal, they have a huge mark up in these cars,so pushing for the '06 to be PPP'd into the bargain,or at least getting some money off the PPP is not unreasonable i would have thought, especially if you look like you are prepared to walk away from either!!
